Handstitched Ahoy

Handstitched is a go go!! Any minute now (well tomorrow actually) the first class is going up and I can barely contain my excitement. I have a couple more things to get and I'll be set.

But do you want to see my fabric for the medallion quilt??? Well if you'll excuse the bad iPad photos, here goes!

I started with the Sew Mama Sew thinking daisies for the centre. I went out yesterday and bought some coordinating solids (Moda in Black, Ruby and Unbleached). I've also got some memoir there which I think matches nicely but I'm not sure how to add it in without it getting lost. We'll see as the class goes on.

I bought my floss and cotton for this project. I was a bit stressed out because I needed a certain size and I couldn't get me colours in that particular size. So I bought whatever they had. I know I'm an idiot, but I was trying so hard to be prepared!!

I also grabbed some embroidery floss. I grabbed a silvery grey specifically, because I figured that would tone in with the colours in sew mama, but I also grabbed some red, black and cream. I know I'll need it for other projects through this class, so I went ahead and grabbed any colour that struck my fancy. Some are a bit not me, but you never know what will strike as just right when you get into the sewing.

I grabbed some nice perl colours for other projects too.

Yes I had a big shopping day yesterday. And now I want to run out and find 2 things I missed and check in to see if they've had a cotton delivery since yesterday so I can get the right size perl.

Hope you're having a fabulous day!!

    1. I really like the text, so I'm hoping it will work. The colours are right, but I think it might disapear next to all the handquilting... We'll see.
