Well hello there

I wanted to post something for anyone popping by from Beth's Monday link up (love her by the way! Such a sweetie and so freaking talented!)

I thought I'd let you all know that I signed up to do a quilt a long. This is a first for me, so I'm a bit excited. Not as excited as my Handstitched course, but I won't rave about that as you may start blocking my posts, as I've talked about nothing else for weeks!

So my quilt a long! I'm making a giant swoon. Jennifer at the hopeful homemaker (http://hopefulhomemaker.com) is running it. Yes a GIANT swoon. I hope it will be amazing. I've got my colours picked... Or at least bought. I haven't cut them yet, so I could go crazy and change my mind at the last minute. It's happened before.

But for the moment my colours are blue and brown with creamy backgrounds.

Now to decide whether I want the blue or the brown in the middle. Originally it was going to be the blue as the focus with the brown surround, but now I'm leaning the other way... I think it might end up making the blue more striking to have it as the surround. I'm hoping it will be a lovely grown up quilt that I can have on my bed. I'm pretty sure I'll love it either way.

Anyway! I hope everyone is enjoying their week and that the sun is shining wherever you are - if not in the sky, then at last in your heart (ahh, how disgustingly sappy).

E
xx

    1. They're everywhere! And becuase this blogging quilting world is such a community, it's hard not to get caught up in the enthusiasm. Like the scrappy trip along! I want to do it! Not because i particulalry love the style (if i did it, it's probably be in a specific colour pallete and thus not a scrappy trip a long)but because everyone everywhere looks liek they are having so much fun!
I have to remember that just becasue it's fun and pretty, doesn't mean i should do it. I have to save my fabric (read hoard)for those projects i really love or for things that will be a perfect gift for a specific person.
Can you tell, I'm trying to be strict with myself :-) We'll see how long that lasts!

    1. Thanks Chrissie. I think it's a really inviting colour scheme. The chocolatey brown is really warm and the blue is soft and cool and i think it'll end up nice. Fingers crossed! lol
